Are you a rockstar developer, or do you want to be? Is being a rockstar a good idea or a bad one? What does it take to do great work in software development, does it take rockstar developers or just good habits? The idea of the developer rockstar is mostly a creation of the recruitment industry to appeal to the best developers, but in reality, this is not a great model for delivering great software and comes with lots of problems. It also goes against what Google and others have found about what it takes to create great software. In this episode Dave Farley, author of “Continuous Delivery” and “Modern Software Engineering” unpicks the idea of “Rockstar developers” and compares them to how effective, high-performing, teams work. - Also from Dave: 🎓 CD TRAINING COURSES If you want to learn Continuous Delivery and DevOps skills, check out Dave Farley's courses ➡️ 🤍 📧 Get a FREE guide "How to Organise Software Teams" by Dave Farley when you join our CD MAIL LIST 📧 The best way to keep in touch with the latest discussions, events and new training courses, get FREE guides and exclusive offers. ➡️ 🤍 _ 📚 BOOKS: 📖 "Continuous Delivery Pipelines" by Dave Farley paperback ➡️ 🤍 ebook version ➡️ 🤍 📖 Dave’s NEW BOOK "Modern Software Engineering" is available here ➡️ 🤍 📖 The original, award-winning "Continuous Delivery" book by Dave Farley and Jez Humble ➡️ 🤍 NOTE: If you click on one of the Amazon Affiliate links and buy the book, Continuous Delivery Ltd. will get a small fee for the recommendation with NO increase in cost to you. - 🔗 LINKS: • 🤍 • Belbin ➡️ 🤍 • Belbin Team Roles ➡️ 🤍 • Project Aristotle & Belbin ➡️ 🤍 - CHANNEL SPONSORS: Equal Experts is a product software development consultancy with a network of over 1,000 experienced technology consultants globally. While I was modeling in Hong Kong, I eventually felt the desire to further my education. I decided to depart the modeling world and move back to Canada, knowing that could be the end of my modeling opportunities. I attended Ryerson University for GCM (Graphic Communications Management), as I thought I might still work in the fashion industry in another capacity. It was in my last year of university, I was introduced to a very basic coding course. I instantly fell in love. From there I knew I wanted to pursue software development but didn't have a clue where to start. I didn't want to go back to university as I just completed a four-year degree. I decided to enroll in a 10-week intensive coding Bootcamp. From there I started working at a small startup learning and growing my technical and soft skills. I then transitioned to a larger company where I am a software developer and technical consultant today. How To Become a Blockchain Developer in 2022? #BlockchainDeveloper #TiffInTech

The new Hitman games have always been great for speedruns, and Hitman 3 continues this trend by featuring levels that players can finish in mere seconds. So naturally, we asked the devs at IO Interactive if they would be interesting in watching years of their hard work finished in record breaking times. Check out more from the speedrunners here: Goron: 🤍 🤍 🤍 Frote7: 🤍 🤍 🤍 In this video, instead of just one speedrun, we actually show the devs 5 seperate videos. While it wouldv'e been fun to only show them a six second speedrun, then we'd have our own world record for shortest Devs React to Speedruns in history. Instead, what you'll find is four different Any% speedruns all with varying times, and then a run through of the entire game as a Silent Assassin. Hitman 3 is the latest entry in the long-running Hitman franchise. It was developed and published by IO Interactive for PC, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X/S, Stadia, and Nintendo Switch on January 20, 2021.

Originele upload datum: 18 April 2019 Studio time!
