Come with me and let’s see what Chinese food in Guyana is all about! Guyanese Chinese food is Chinese food made using Guyanese ingredients and cooking techniques, so it’s a true fusion of the two cultures. To try some, my guide Stacey and I would be heading to the New Thriving Chinese Restaurant in Georgetown. It’s a massive restaurant and we’d be having roughly a dozen dishes there! 📝SUBSCRIBE TO MY NEWSLETTER: 🤍 🌳 MY LINKTREE: 🤍 Inside, we headed back into the kitchen, where I saw the cooks preparing Peking duck, steamed vegetables, paradise fried rice, and more. The paradise rice contains pineapple, diced chicken, and vegetables. They serve it in a pineapple! Next were Singapore noodles, which are like glass noodles. They pan-fry them in a wok with a sauce and then add vegetables. Then, they also made a sweet & sour chicken. They batter and fry the chicken and then stir-fry them in a sauce with vegetables. We tried the sweet & sour chicken right in the kitchen. It was sour and sweet but also had some heat to it. The chicken was perfectly cooked, and the sauce was like a nice glaze. Then, they fried some eggplant they’d cut into spirals and skewered. They deep-fried them, plated them, and then added a sweet chili sauce on top. The sweet chili eggplant was phenomenal! It was so soft on the inside but crispy on the outside. It was the best fried eggplant I’ve ever eaten! The sauce was insane! They followed that by making pinecone fish, which they batter and fry until it looks like a pinecone. Then, they top it with sauce and vegetables! They also made some lightly fried beef and some rice with vegetables. I was loving the Cantonese cuisine with a Guyanese twist! At our table, we had all of our dishes on a lazy Susan. I started with my coconut water and then jumped on the Singapore noodles, stir-fried vegetables, steamed dumplings, Peking duck, and more. The Singapore noodles were beautiful and light, and the stir-fried beef melted in my mouth. The sauce was incredible and sweet, with a bit of heat. I also loved the lightness and tropical flavors of the paradise fried rice. The pineapple was fantastic! I also loved the pinecone fish. It reminded me of a similar fish dish I’d had in Suzhou, China back in 2019. The sweet and sour sauce on it was delicious. The batter was perfect. The steamed garlic prawns were also incredible. There was garlic flavor, but it wasn’t super potent. Then, we grabbed some of the wraps and placed the Peking duck and sauce inside, along with a crispy rice cracker. Everything together was heavenly. The skin of the duck was nice and crispy, just the way I like it! Where have you been? This is Part 1 of an epic 14 hour day of eating as much Sichuan Chinese food as possible in a single day - this is only half of the food, be sure to watch Part 2 as well! #ChineseFood #streetfood #Sichuan Again, a big thank you to Jordan and Anita from Chengdu Food Tours (🤍 for taking me around Chengdu for this unbelievable food tour. Sichuan is one of the greatest cuisines of China, and the world, known for numbing Sichuan peppercorn, chili oil, layers of fermented and pickled ingredients, and huge amounts of flavor. I was very excited to go on an ultimate Sichuan Chinese street food tour to learn more about this fascinating cuisine. Here’s the main food and restaurants we ate at in this video: ShiEr Qiao Baozi - One of the most common things to eat for breakfast in China is baozi, and this corner little restaurant is extremely popular and their family favorite spot for baozi in Chengdu. The minced pork version, which is their main one, is probably the best baozi I’ve ever had. The meat filling was delicious, but really it was the bread, the dough that stood out. Total price - 24 RMB ($3.38) Duck Blood Snack - One our way to the market, we had another Sichuan street food classic, coagulated duck blood drenched in chili oil. Delicious. Total price - 7 RMB ($0.98) Wang Ma Roast Rabbit - One of the most popular Sichuan Chinese street food snacks is roasted rabbit, shredded and loaded with chili oil, Sichuan peppercorn, and chili oil. What an ultra tasty snack. Half rabbit - 33 RMB ($4.65) Market - The market is vibrant and full of action and energy, and a perfect place to get a feel for the fresh ingredients used in Sichuan food cooking. The highlight for me was tasting fresh Sichuan peppercorn, both green and red versions, which were so pungent it was almost hard to breath from chewing on a few. Luckily, sugar reduces the effect of Sichuan peppercorn, and so we ate a persimmon. What a food experience! Noodles - One of the most well known of all Sichuan Chinese street food dishes are chili noodles, and so Anita brought us to one of her favorite spots. The noodles were cooked perfectly, then tossed in chili oil and herbs, with extra pork meat. They were unbelievably tasty. Price - 12 RMB ($1.69) per bowl Sifang Dumpling Shop - Finally, for the last morning snack before lunch, we ate some Sichuan dumplings, again, one of the most eat street foods of Chengdu. The dumplings were boiled, then seasoned with chili oil, garlic, and sesame seeds. When we moved from the US to Rotterdam Netherlands we have tried some good food and some great food, but for me it been a hit and sometimes a miss. The Chinese Food we had today was good. I'm not sure what I was really expecting but I was surprised at something that knocked my socks off! Living in Rotterdam as an expat from the US, one of our goals was to get out of our comfort zone and try new foods to us and this fit the bill. SOOOO... Thanks for watching our little vlog about us, our food tasting and what the food is really like in the Netherlands. Moving to Rotterdam Netherlands from the US I can tell you that you really can not get food this authentic. So if you travel to Rotterdam, get off the beaten path find an alley or side street and try some food that you will not find anywhere else! Life in Europe is great!!!

🇹🇹 QUINCY: 🤍 🇹🇹 DAVID: 🤍 🌎 MY TRAVEL/FOOD BLOG: 🤍 After months of planning, I’ve officially arrived in my 87th country, Trinidad and Tobago! The food and culture here are so diverse and I can’t wait to dive into it all over the next week and a half. Let’s eat some Trinidadian Chinese food in the capital, Port of Spain! Trinidad and Tobago is a country in the Caribbean Sea, just a stone’s throw from northern Venezuela, the country my parents are from. Trinidad and Tobago cuisine is a wonderful and diverse fusion of African, South Asian, Creole, Afghan, Chinese, Amerindian, Arab, Spanish, and Portuguese cuisines, which makes it super unique unto itself! ⚽️BOL: 🤍 👕 DAVID’S BEEN HERE MERCH: 🤍 My adventure began on the island of Trinidad, in the country’s capital, Port of Spain. My new friends Quincy and David and I would be starting off at Wing Hua, a Chinese restaurant and bar in the city. The restaurant had a small dining area that was closed due to COVID, as well as a bar at the end where you order. Quincy told me the food would be spicy, so I was excited! Their menu was massive, and we ordered six items. One of the guys there was a fan of mine and gave me some curry goat for free! Then, I headed back into the kitchen to watch them prepare some lo mein noodles with half of a chopped Chinese-style chicken on top. Next, they prepared some pepper shrimp, beef in black bean sauce and vegetables, chunky vegetables, Hong Kong-style pork, Singapore noodles, fried chicken, Chinese-style roasted chicken, and more. I tried a carrot and some pork. It was very spicy! At our table, we started with fried wontons, chunky vegetables, Hong Kong-style pork, and beef in black bean sauce. First, I tried the wontons with chili sauce. It was spicy but full of flavor! Everything looked so hearty, meaty, and protein-rich! Then, I moved on to the Singapore noodles, Hong Kong-style pork, pepper shrimp, and chunky vegetables. The noodles were like thin glass noodles with a bit of spice, meat, and vegetables. I loved that the Chinese food was made using Trinidadian spices! The tender beef was also fantastic. I loved the black bean sauce, and the Hong Kong-style pork had some nice heat to it. The pepper shrimp also had a nice amount of spice on them. I also really enjoyed the chunky vegetables. Next were steamed shrimp wontons, which were very different from the fried ones. They were soft and doughy, and came down in a pungent sauce. The spice in the sauce had a delayed reaction! I followed them with the ram-style chicken came with peppers and carrots. It was so tasty with an almost glazy sauce on it, and was like a lightly fried chicken. The crispy skin pork was fatty and crispy, almost like chicharron! I loved it. Then, I went for the chicken spring roll, which was more like a large empanada or pastel. I liked houw light and crispy it was. The char sui bao, or barbecued pork bun, was like a savory and fluffy pillow. It had a sweetness to it, and the bun itself was nice and airy. Finally, I went with the matcha boba tea. The little tapioca balls in it were fantastic. It was like a mocha frappuccino with whipped cream. The beef in black bean sauce was my favorite, with the steamed wontons a close second. It’s a bit of an infamous region of the world, due to its history of drug trafficking and the production of opium poppy. However, many of the Hill Tribe communities within Thailand have given up growing opium now and instead grow coffee or tea. #ChiangRai #Thailand #streetfood Today, we’re going on a Thai and Chinese street food tour of the Golden Triangle area of Thailand. First, we’ll start by touring the Golden Triangle park and area, and getting an up close view of the region. Then to really find delicious street food, you need to go downstream a few kilometers to the biggest main town called Chiang Saen (เชียงแสน). I really loved this town, so peaceful and quiet, and right along the banks of the Mekong River. There happens to be an amazing Chinese food restaurant, and some fantastic street food in the evening along the river. Kiao Siang Hai Restaurant (ร้านอาหารเกี้ยวเซี่ยงไฮ้) - When you’re in Chiang Saen at the Golden Triangle, this restaurant is a must. They serve properly good and comforting Chinese food, with a mix, but mainly Sichuan style Chinese food. I read in Lonely Planet, that this restaurant is very popular especially with Chinese boat crews who are sailing down the Mekong River (though not at the time of filming this video as the border of Thailand were still closed). Food was outstanding, and I especially loved the deep fried chili chicken. Total price - 1,230 THB ($41.14) for everything Mekong dinner street food - After a fantastic afternoon in Chiang Saen, visiting some of the historical monuments, we then headed back to the Mekong Riverside for dinner. In the evening you’ll find a bunch of street food stall, that all pretty much have the same menu of pounded salads, freshwater shrimp, Mekong River fish, and the highlight - snake head fish roasted in bamboo. Food was delicious, and the atmosphere was so perfect on the Mekong River. An amazing meal and time to relax. Total price - 540 THB ($18.06) The Golden Triangle is a very unique area to visit in Thailand, with so much history to learn about. I would recommend staying and eating through Chiang Saen when you’re in the area. Add two egg whites and salt, stir and marinate for 20 minutes. 3. Put oil in the pot, heat to high temperature, add ginger and beef, add soy sauce and fry for 3 minutes 4. Put oil in the pan, pour the chili sauce and fry for 1 minute, then add water 5. Pour in cabbage and bean sprouts and cook for 5 minutes 6. Put the cabbage and bean sprouts in a large bowl, and then cover the beef on it 7. Sprinkle chili powder and pepper powder on the beef 8.
